Bear’s Den Series Among New Releases

Fall 2017

Twenty titles by Jacqueline Adams (eleven fiction and nine nonfiction) are part of the first release of the new Fountas & Pinnell Classroom Guided Reading Collection for Grades K-2. Jacqueline’s new books include seven titles in her humorous, but heartwarming, Bear’s Den series. Nine New Books

Fall 2015

Heinemann has released nine books by Jacqueline Adams as part of the Grades 6-12 (Teal System) collection of Leveled Literacy Intervention Little Books. “Battling Ebola” Receives Honor

Spring 2015

The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators presented Jacqueline Adams with the 2015 Magazine Merit Honor Certificate for Nonfiction for her article entitled “Battling Ebola.” The article, which was published in the December 8, 2014, issue of Scholastic’s Science World, features a first-hand account of a doctor who traveled to West Africa to fight the worst Ebola outbreak in history.

New Books Released

Fall 2014

Heinemann has just released the Grade 5 (Purple System) collection of Leveled Literacy Intervention Little Books. Among them are 11 nonfiction books written by Jacqueline Adams. Her topics include a search for lost amphibians, a pirate who just may have been a hero, some really hard cash (the stone money of Yap), chores that are anything but boring (extreme ironing, anyone?), and a sea creature with moves that would  make a ninja look sluggish. Mars School Visit

April 2014

On April 15, Jacqueline Adams visited the third- and fourth-graders at Mars Area Elementary School. With her “Behind the Scenes” presentation, Jacqueline shared some of her experiences doing on-the-spot research for her stories.   

WHOI selects Jacqueline Adams as one of the 2011 Ocean Science Journalism Fellows

Fall 2011

Jacqueline Adams, along with nine other writers and multimedia science journalists from the U.S., Canada, France, Great Britain and South Korea, was selected to participate in the competitive Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) Ocean Science Journalism Fellowship program. The program took place from September 11-16, 2011, in Woods Hole, Mass., on Cape Cod. More information is available at the WHOI website.
